First Tuesday: October 1, 2024

On October 1, 2024, we had another impactful First Tuesday event, with volunteers dedicating their time to serve both the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Revive225. It was a day full of community support and teamwork as we worked across multiple locations to make a meaningful difference.

Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank

At the Food Bank, volunteers worked tirelessly to prepare meal packages for our local community. These packages will directly assist families in need, ensuring they have access to nutritious food. Our team's efforts helped streamline the packing process, enabling the Food Bank to distribute meals more efficiently.

Revive225

We also had volunteers working at three homesites with Revive225, making significant progress in improving the living conditions for vulnerable homeowners.

Home 1

This long-term project is nearing completion after months of dedicated work. The team has rebuilt the kitchen and bathroom, restored running water, and repaired several electrical components, which will make a life-changing difference for the homeowner.

Home 2

A handrail was installed to assist a 94-year-old woman in safely walking from the street to her front door. This simple yet essential improvement will greatly enhance her mobility and independence.

Home 3

The team completed the construction and painting of a wheelchair ramp for a disabled resident, ensuring they have easier access to their home.
